Thermostat
Creep action device, bimetal construction, Preset calibration temperature; not adjustable in field. Available from +45°C-+155°C in 5° increments ± 5°C to open circuit on rise of temperature (normally closed); or close circuit on rise temperature (normally open). Contact ratings 6 amps/120 volts AC resistive; 5 amps/120 volts AC inductive.
Thermocouple
Thermocouples are constructed from two wires made of dissimilar metals that generate a small voltage as the temperature difference between the junctions change. Use Thermocouples when you need to get quick temperature response as in machines that heat up from 75°F to 375°F in 5 minutes. Thermocouples are the best choice for machines that produce a lot of vibration such as hot stamping machines, hydraulic presses, and packaging machines, due to their ruggedness and simplicity. They are also best for use in very high temperature applications.
Thermistor
Thermistors are semiconductor materials whose electrical resistance can be any value from 100 ohms to 1,000,000 ohms at 25°C. Thermistors are excellent sensing devices to use in low temperature applications such as film processing equipment, spas, water baths, refrigerated systems, food warming trays and other similar devices. Thermistors should always be used where it is essential to stay at a constant temperature and have confidence that your system is accurate and will remain stable.
