Description
The LS-14-180 Polypropylene Single-Level Float Switch is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant solution designed for accurate liquid level detection in chemically aggressive and non-metallic fluid applications. Made from high-purity polypropylene, this float switch offers excellent resistance to a wide variety of corrosive chemicals and water-based solutions, making it ideal for water treatment systems, chemical tanks, plating baths, and OEM equipment where metal components may degrade or react with the fluid.
Polypropylene is well known for its resistance to acids, alkalis, and salts, offering a longer service life in challenging environments while helping to maintain fluid purity in sensitive systems. Its low cost and excellent durability make it especially well-suited for OEM and high-volume applications, where performance and price are both critical considerations.
The LS-14-180 is vertically mounted and available with a SPST reed switch rated at 70 VA, capable of handling up to 150 VAC or 200 VDC, and supporting a maximum switching current of 0.7A AC or 1.0A DC. These ratings make it suitable for low-voltage alarm signals, relay triggers, or integration into larger automation and control systems.
This float switch features a compact, space-efficient design, allowing it to be installed in small tanks or narrow containers. It is offered in a Normally Open (N.O.) configuration, and, like many other models in the series, can be reconfigured to Normally Closed (N.C.) by simply inverting the float on the stem, offering installation flexibility across multiple system types.
Equipped with 24-inch, 20 AWG lead wires insulated in PVC, the LS-14-180 ensures safe, reliable electrical connections in humid or chemically exposed environments. Its rugged plastic construction and simplified mounting make it easy to integrate into new builds or retrofit into existing equipment with minimal effort.
With a generous temperature range of -40°F to 180°F and a design built for reliability in aggressive fluids, the LS-14-180 delivers dependable switching performance in corrosive or non-metallic environments where stainless steel or brass options are not suitable.
Whether you’re designing chemical equipment, managing process fluids, or sourcing components for industrial OEM applications, the LS-14-180 Polypropylene Float Switch offers excellent chemical compatibility, low cost, and high reliability, making it the go-to solution for non-metallic level sensing needs.
